Re-reading books...

01 September 2009 - 11:18 PM

I love to re-read books! My biggest guilty pleasure, Twilight, well... I've reread each of the books at least 3 times each. It's not boring, either. I can't explain this phenomenon haha.

And then there are books with lots of detail that just are begging to be read more than once. The Birth of Venus, by Sarah Dunant is one. And I need to reread the Picture of Dorian Gray soon. Recently I reread The Host (also by Stephenie Meyer but much much much better than the Twilight saga ;p).

I love to just get into these new worlds created and imagined by other people. It helps me gain perspective on other things (morals, opinions, random... facts idk) and it's interesting to fantasize sometimes haha. I like writing and creating words and plots myself, so I love books and rereading them to get the bigger picture... or just to enjoy it again. Books are meant to be enjoyed.

Thesis Help on Lord of the Flies

15 May 2009 - 04:57 PM

I haven't read the book so I shoudn't offer too much help, but I think you need to minimize your thesis. :) No summarizing... just state your opinion. For example:

The blue dog liked bunnies so it loved to chase them and then go swimming so it was an active dog.
--->
Based on the dog's numerous activities, the blue dog is an active and imaginative animal. (Then after you state it [or before, depending on where you put your thesis] you can "list" and explain it better.)

So if you just followed her sentence and incorporated your own ideas, you can began to write your own. Maybe practice thesis/topic sentence writing? Maybe even do a little googling to find essay or thesis writing sites. Good luck :] (sorry about the random blue dog example).
