So, I recently downloaded PaintTool SAI and doodled around in it, and discovered it was pretty good, so I've now began drawing again. Mostly digitally though now. So here are some of my works :

Just a quick doodle using the airbrush tool in SAI

And this is Yuki-Chan, FlameChocobo's OC. Hope FC doesn't mind.

SAI is fun, right? 8D

As a bit of constructive criticism, you need to work on your anatomy @ the second picture. Keep trying though. :D

The eye is pretty nice, really blurry though. (I know the airbrush tool IS blurry, but y'know.)

Yeah it is really fun.

And my anatomy isn't normally that bad, it's just it began as a quick sketch for fun, and ended up getting coloured.

And yes, the eye is blurry, mainly because of airbrush tool, but also it may be because I saved it as PNG.

So long as your anatomy is normally better, yeah.

PNGs don't blur. o3o

Only use the airbrush for blending, I say. Otherwise it really hurts the eyes.

'Kay. Thanks for the comments.

Just another quick sketch.

Bass, I'm terrible at this, mind making me a tutorial or something? I always draw in paintbrush, and I'm rubbish at drawing straight lnies.

Well, I say draw with the ink pen with a high resolution and large canvas size. Then color with the brush and maybe water for some smooth blending-- I like just using the brush. I've never even touched the airbrush.

Personally I use the Marker, (ink) Pen and Brush for everything.

I use Canon PowerShot A570 IS to take pictures of my finished artwork. I use Paint.net to turn my artwork into a CG version. On the program, I used to use a paintbrush tool on some of my arts, but on my newest art, I used a pencil tool to trace the pencil marks, and colored them with any tool I prefer. I shade anything except the checker tuxedo which is too hard to shade.

This is a gift art for MariettaRC just by looking at her journal.

spy r u ok

VCn0NZs.jpg

btw where do you have straight lines in draw? Rarely ever. Not even ground b/c it has texture.
]

Pen is just a tool in the end, and so is airbrush. But combo pen + air brush = really often sign of amateurish:

Spoiler

I see some people champion against using the airbrush for reasons. Count me against the pen tool in much the same way.

That is amazing/terrifying. Amazerrifying.

I could imagine that doodled in the journal of a serial killer.

The original was terrifying to begin with. I take no credit!

But your addition improves it greatly. It makes it look like a mugshot. Adding to the serial killery-ness.

This needs to go into the airbrush/pen tool hall of shame:

Spoiler

I could have a collection of these.

Ah yes, criticism for the sake of criticism, forget about anything remotely helpful. Always brings a little thrill to my black heart.

And I like this comment thread where OP passes off some steps he ripped from a tutorial as something that occurred more naturally to him:
