[1.0] Introduction

[1.1] Character Creation

Make your character to look how you want him/her to look like.
(Anyone that read the previous "Dice Roll" that was here, can ignore it now as you will always get the perfect stats when you create your character.)

[1.2] Maple Island -> Victoria Island
Now, you're on Maple Island, beginning your adventure.
Learn about MapleStory, do all the quests on the way to the end. Once you finish them all, do all the quests on Maple Island and you should end up around level 9 60%. Train a bit more until you hit around 75%.

Now take the boat in SouthPerry to Victoria Island. Make sure you get the Recommendation Letter from Lucas first because then you get a free ride. mush1a.gif

Once you set foot on Victoria Island, you'll be in Lith Harbor. Keep going right and find Olaf. Finish the quest Biggs gave you and do Olaf's quest to get 65 exp. Click on him again to bring up a whole lot of new quests. Select 'The Road to Becoming A Pirate'. Now go back to the boat and on your way you'll run into the NPC, Phil. Click on him and select Nautilus Harbor.

Now that you're in Nautilus Harbor, go down and enter the submarine. Keep going right and go into the Upper Corridor of the Nautilus. Finally, keep going left until you come across a portal on the very left. Muirhat, the NPC should be standing next to it. Go in. Kyrin should be there. Finish the quest Olaf gave you and you should level up, unless you didn't train to around 75% on Maple Island. If you didn't train a bit more outside Nautilus Harbor then come back. Click on Kyrin again and Click Yes.

Congratulations, you're now a Pirate!

[2.0] Pros and Cons

The Brawler job has many Pros and Cons. Bear them in mind if you want to be a Brawler, they might not suit your playing style.

[2.1] Pros
- They depend on STR which will give them good maximum damage.
- Easy to train up to level 10, best after Warriors.
- Pirates are one of the only classes to get a mobbing skill from the start.
- They also get a powerful solo skill.

[2.2] Cons
- Because they depend on STR and only have small amounts of DEX, they have unstable damage, meaning they have a lower minimum damage.
- They have very low accuracy in the lower levels.
- A Melee class so they have to attack at close range, meaning they use more pots.

[3.0] Builds

There is one main build the Pirate uses before becoming a Brawler. But once you hit Brawler, there are many ways to start developing your Brawler to become the best.

[3.1] AP Distribution
If you followed the Character Creation section [1.1], you should have 4/5 INT and 4/5 LUK. When you level, from level 1, you should add 5 DEX every level, until you hit 20 DEX. This is because 20 DEX is the requirement to become a Pirate. Now, every level after that, add 5 STR until level 20. Your DEX should be the same as your level and STR should be as high as you can get it to be.

Here's a simple way to learn it:
Let's say you started with 7 STR, 9 DEX, 4 INT, 5 LUK.

Lv1: +5 DEX (7 STR, 14 DEX)
Lv2: +5 DEX (7 STR, 19 DEX)
Lv3: +1 DEX, +4 STR (11 STR, 20 DEX)
Lv4: +5 STR (16 STR, 20 DEX)
Lv5: +5 STR (21 STR, 20 DEX)
etc...
Lv19: +5 STR (86 STR, 20 DEX)
Lv20: +5 STR (91 STR, 20 DEX)
Lv21: +4 STR +1 DEX (95 STR, 21 DEX)
Lv22: +4 STR +1 DEX (99 STR, 22 DEX)
etc...

[3.2] 1st Job
The first job build is very basic. Easy as 1, 2, 3.

1) Max Sommersault Kick
2) Max Bullet Time
3) Max Flash Fist
With your 1 remaining point, you can add it on Dash or Double Shot. Many people say to put it on Dash and others say put it on Double Shot.

Pros of Dash:
- Fast for travelling

Cons of Dash:
- You might accidently activate it during training, causing you 14 MP loss.

Pros of Double Shot:
- Fun, if you have nothing better to do.
- If you get bored of melee-ing, you can switch for a bit and try out a ranged class.

Cons of Double Shot:
- Low range at level 1
- Low damage at level 1

That's about it for both.
I personally added mine to Dash, for the travelling.

[3.3] 2nd Job
The start of all 2nd job builds should be the same, maxing Improve MaxHP and Knuckle Mastery. This is to maximize the amount of HP you can have without using AP and increasingyour minimum damage and accuracy.

Power Build

Lv30: [1] Improve MaxHP
Lv31: [4] Improve MaxHP
Lv32: [7] Improve MaxHP
Lv33: [Max] Improve MaxHP
Lv34: [1] Corkscrew Blow, [1] Backspin Blow, [1] Knuckle Mastery
Lv35: [4] Knuckle Mastery
Lv36: [7] Knuckle Mastery
Lv37: [10] Knuckle Mastery
Lv38: [13] Knuckle Mastery
Lv39: [16] Knuckle Mastery
Lv40: [19] Knuckle Mastery
Lv41: [Max] Knuckle Mastery, [2] Knuckle Booster
Lv42: [5] Knuckle Booster
Lv43: [6] Knuckle Booster, [3] Corkscrew Blow
Lv44: [6] Corkscrew Blow
Lv45: [9] Corkscrew Blow
Lv46: [12] Corkscrew Blow
Lv47: [15] Corkscrew Blow
Lv48: [18] Corkscrew Blow
Lv49: [Max] Corkscrew Blow, [1] Double Uppercut
Lv50: [4] Double Uppercut
Lv51: [7] Double Uppercut
Lv52: [10] Double Uppercut
Lv53: [13] Double Uppercut
Lv54: [16] Double Uppercut
Lv55: [19] Double Uppercut
Lv56: [Max] Double Uppercut, [3] Backspin Blow
Lv57: [6] Backspin Blow
Lv58: [9] Backspin Blow
Lv59: [12] Backspin Blow
Lv60: [15] Backspin Blow
Lv61: [18] Backspin Blow
Lv62: [Max] Backspin Blow, [7] Knuckle Booster
Lv63: [10] Knuckle Booster
Lv64: [13] Knuckle Booster
Lv65: [16] Knuckle Booster
Lv66: [19] Knuckle Booster
Lv67: [Max] Knuckle Booster, [2] MP Recovery
Lv68: [5] MP Recovery
Lv69: [8] MP Recovery
Lv70: [Max] MP Recovery, [1] Oak Barrel

The reason this is a Power Build is because you add Corkscrew Blow after Improve MaxHP and Knuckle Mastery. Both of these are musts. When maxed, Corkscrew Blow deals 420% damage to 3 monsters. All other classes should stop at level 19 Mastery because level 20 Mastery only gives 1 extra accuracy, but Brawlers have low accuracy, so they should max Mastery. If you don't, you have to put it in Oak Barrel, which I consider pretty much useless.

Balance Build

Lv30: [1] Improve MaxHP
Lv31: [4] Improve MaxHP
Lv32: [7] Improve MaxHP
Lv33: [Max] Improve MaxHP
Lv34: [1] Corkscrew Blow, [1] Backspin Blow, [1] Knuckle Mastery
Lv35: [4] Knuckle Mastery
Lv36: [7] Knuckle Mastery
Lv37: [10] Knuckle Mastery
Lv38: [13] Knuckle Mastery
Lv39: [16] Knuckle Mastery
Lv40: [19] Knuckle Mastery
Lv41: [Max] Knuckle Mastery, [2] Knuckle Booster
Lv42: [5] Knuckle Booster
Lv43: [6] Knuckle Booster, [3] Corkscrew Blow
Lv44: [4] Corkscrew Blow, [3] Backspin Blow
Lv45: [5] Corkscrew Blow, [5] Backspin Blow
Lv46: [8] Corkscrew Blow
Lv47: [8] Backspin Blow
Lv48: [11] Corkscrew Blow
Lv49: [11] Backspin Blow
Lv50: [14] Corkscrew Blow
Lv51: [14] Backspin Blow
Lv52: [17] Corkscrew Blow
Lv53: [17] Backspin Blow
Lv54: [Max] Corkscrew Blow
Lv55: [Max] Backspin Blow
Lv56: [3] Double Uppercut
Lv57: [6] Double Uppercut
Lv58: [9] Double Uppercut
Lv59: [12] Double Uppercut
Lv60: [15] Double Uppercut
Lv61: [18] Double Uppercut
Lv62: [Max] Double Uppercut, [7] Knuckle Booster
Lv63: [10] Knuckle Booster
Lv64: [13] Knuckle Booster
Lv65: [16] Knuckle Booster
Lv66: [19] Knuckle Booster
Lv67: [Max] Knuckle Booster, [2] MP Recovery
Lv68: [5] MP Recovery
Lv69: [8] MP Recovery
Lv70: [Max] MP Recovery, [1] Oak Barrel

The main difference between the Power build and the Balance build is the positioning of Corkscrew Blow, Backspin Blow and Double Uppercut. You balance out Corkscrew Blow and Backspin Blow. This is because it's a great combo along with Sommersault Kick. You won't notice much difference in the damage since you're balancing it out, there will be quite alot.

I suggest LMPQ for those who max corkscrew blow. It deals very good damamge to the Tauruses in room 6 and 7, since they're all close together all the time. A fully charged one is very good.

I have not experienced this, but LMPQing with Brawlers using corkscrew blow certainly hastens the PQ. They are able to solo a room and even faster than 3 people in another.

Thats it.

set free.

Hidden-street doesn't allow you to copy-pasta. It's best to save the images to your computer and upload them somewhere.

Hidden-street doesn't allow you to copy-pasta. It's best to save the images to your computer and upload them somewhere.

Oh ok, thanks.

I've done the v0.2 of the guide.

-Re-uploaded the skill images
-In-depth training spot guide. (Not really a guide)

Going to do the rest of the monsters later.

You should also note on Sakura Cellions that some valuable drops could include the Zard. Anything on their Drop list that sells for over 100k in the NPC is usually good.

Actually, by my criteria, anything people don't want, NPC's well and can go towards your "profit count" works for me.

45-50 Can be done at Truckers as well. (Hidden-Street Data)

Their spawn is fantastic. Killing them shouldn't be an issue. Many people leave this place because they complain they drain too many potions. Before I got my Zakum Helmet (And therefore reducing my potion costs if I would return there), I saw no problems with potions, and I was using lower level armor, so I took even more touch damage. I maintained a nice steady profit, breaking even, losing a few thousand, and gaining a lot because I have a pet for looting.

But it depends. Anyway, three platforms on the map, all spawn Truckers like mad. My way of training was to go on the Second platform (where you spawn from CCing), go across it to the left, but instead of going down to the third row, I went up the ladder to the top, went to the right sweeping the top, dropping down to do the Second row again, dropped down to the third, swept it, went back up the 2nd and repeated. Good EXP for me.

And, Mysterious Path 3 can be 50-80 for some people, 50-72 is a good estimate for me while people starting doing their builds. Basic idea is to go across the whole map (yes, the entire map, it's a pain to share because sometimes people kill slower than you do, and you kill bigger mobs, lowering spawn + EXP.) Go clockwise. If you find a map, you spawn by the "Hummer." Just go up the ladder, clear the platform, go up the next ladder leading to the top platform, sweep it to the right, kill everything, get your drops, drop down to the middle-right platform (which spawns nothing), drop again to the bottom, mob them to the left by that same ladder from the first time, and repeat.

Problem with MP3 is that it's crowded and KSing occurs periodically. Most KSers are Gunslingers, I/L's and Clerics because they can stand on the hummer spamming skills, and not getting hurt, which affects your bottom sweep. Other times hackers will come in and mess things up.

Sorry of this post is huge, just thought I'd help contribute since I'm a huge fan of Brawlers now, haha.

Just a few questions: How the hell do you hit Horny Mushrooms at level 20? I can't 75% hit Green Mushrooms at level 18 o_o

Thanks for the guide! I found it very useful. I just made a Brawler, currently, at 21, but from what I can tell you've covered the basics. I would focus on adding more non-PQ training spots and listing more valuable drops. We all like to get Brawler armor without paying for it, but I would much rather know if I can find a pair of Ilbis than my next pair of shoes, if you know what I mean. When you have free time, go through each enemy and add more valuable drops to the list; it's useful for people who want to have a quick look at training spots and find good drops.

Other than that, keep updating with ways to train and I'd say this guide will be good in no time. mush1n.gif

@Bodom- Did you find Truckers at all headache inducing? When I was exploring with my I/L Mage, the constant beeping drove me nuts. x.x

@Raseru-Kun- Sniper potions do ya good.

Sorry guys, been away from internet access for a bit. Thanks for all the feedback.
Will start updating again. mush1n.gif

Also, for the pros, I'm just wondering:

Could anyone tell me about the spawn for Iron/Mithril Mutaes and the Main Location for Leprechauns?
I personally have never gone to Mutaes before and I'm not sure about the Leprechauns.

Is it a smart idea to go Low - DEX if I'm only partly funded?

My first character on my account and still my only character was/is my brawler.
I had no funding, starting in Bellocan while al my friends were in Broa.

It doesn't need much funding in my opinion.
But then again, I made a Regular DEX brawler.

How much do you mean by partly funded?
