1. Introduction

Welcome to my guide to Hunters; the second job of Archers. Hunters are ranged characters that use Bows versus its counterparts, which use CrossBows. In the Second Job, Archers gain Mastery for their bow, making the damage more stable. They also gain they're mobbing techniques. [Hunters get Arrow Bomb.] There are many pros to being a Hunter and many cons as well.

Pros:
Faster attacking speeds than CrossBows.
Doesnt cover-up your armour
More builds than a CrossBowman.
Has a stun-mobbing attack. Crossbowmen dont get Stun until 3rd job

Cons:
Slightly more expensive Bows ans Scrolls than Crossbowmen
Do less damage than Crossbowmen
Faster attacking speeds

II. Builds and SP Distribution

Build One: Focus Build (No Final Attack*
Focuses on the First Job skill Focus.

Level 30: +1 Arrow Bomb (1)
Level 31 - 36: +3 Bow Mastery
Level 37: +1 Bow Mastery, +2 Bow Booster
Level 38: +3 Bow Booster
Level 39: +1 Bow Booster, +2 Soul Arrow: Bow
Level 40: +3 Soul Arrow: Bow
Level 41 - 49: +3 Arrow Bomb
Level 50: +2 Arrow Bomb, +1 Power Knock-Back
Level 51 - 56: +3 Power Knock-Back
Level 57: +1 Power Knock-Back, +2 Bow Booster
Level 58 - 61: +3 Bow Booster
Level 62 - 66: +3 Soul Arrow: Bow
Level 67: +1 Bow Mastery, +2 Focus
Level 68 - 70: +3 Focus

For the ones who are too lazy to read all that over, Like me:

20 Bow Mastery
20 Bow Booster
30 Arrow Bomb
20 Power Knock-Back
20 Soul Arrow: Bow
20 Focus

My opinion
I personally dont relaly like this build, mainly cuase im still gonna be using only Double Shot and Focus isnt really that great of a skill. The pros about this build is that you have another buff move to increase your accuracy and avoidablility. The cons are that Bowmen already have incrediably high accuracy, which kinda makes this skill build pointless.

Build Number Two: Blessing of Amazon (No Final Attack)*
Focuses on the First Job Skill Blessing of Amazon

Level 30: +1 Arrow Bomb
Level 31 - 36: +3 Bow Mastery
Level 37: +1 Bow Mastery, +2 Bow Booster
Level 38: +3 Bow Booster
Level 39: +3 Soul Arrow
Level 40: +2 Soul Arrow, +1 Arrow Bomb
Level 41 - 44: +3 Arrow Bomb
Level 45: +1 Arrow Bomb, Save 2 Points
Level 46 - 49: Save 3 Points
Level 50: +15 Arrow Bomb, +2 Power Knock-Back
Level 51 - 56: +3 Power Knock-Back
Level 57 - 61: +3 Bow Booster
Level 62 - 66: +3 Soul Arrow
67 - 70: +3 Blessing of the Amazon

For the ones who are too lazy to read that over, Like me:
19 Bow Mastery
20 Bow Booster
20 Soul Arrow
20 Power Knock-Back
30 Arrow Bomb
16 Blessing of Amazon

My Opinion
I dont really like this build either, but i like it a little more than the Focus build, mainly cause the skill focused on is Passive. The pros are the same as the Focus build, you get a little more accuracy. The cons are that you dont get as much added accuracy as Focus and Bowmen already have isaely high accuracy.

Build Number Three: The Final Attack Build*
Focuses on the Second Job Skill Final Attack

Level 30: +1 Arrow Bomb
Level 31 - 36: +3 Bow Mastery
Level 37: +1 Bow Mastery, +2 Bow Booster
Level 38: +3 Bow Booster
Level 39: +1 Bow Booster, +2 Soul Arrow: Bow
Level 40: +3 Soul Arrow: Bow
Level 41 - 50: +3 Final Attack: Bow
Level 51 - 59: +3 Arrow Bomb
Level 60: +2 Arrow Bomb, +1 Power Knock-Back
Level 61 - 66: +3 Power Knock-Back
Level 67: +1 Power Knock-Back, +2 Bow Booster
Level 68 - 69: +3 Bow Booster
Level 70: +2 Bow Booster, +1 Bow Mastery

If you're too lazy to read that, Like me:
20 in Bow Mastery
30 in Final Attack: Bow
16 in Bow Booster
30 in Arrow Bomb
20 in Power Knock-Back
5 in Soul Arrow: Bow

My Opninion
This is my favourite build. You get a new attack to add to your attack Repretoire. There is much agruement whether this is a good build or not. For a better Final Attack guide, look for dthvirus' Final Attack Guide

*Note on SP Distribution.
You dont have to follow that. You may mix up when you put SP onto something. Thats just a guideline.

---------------------------

3. Equipment

Level 30: Stick with a Blue/Red Sauna Robe you get from the Sauna Quest. Scroll it with 100% Overall Dex scrolls that you can buy from the Kerning Swamp NPC. For your Bow, use a Ryden. You do not need to scroll it, but if you do, even better. Shoes are your own choice, But i would stick to your White-Bottoms. They are good enough to last you util level 40. You can stick with your current glove, But a 6 Attack Workglove will be sufficient until level 60. Hat doesnt really matter. Its your choice.

Level 35: You may which to the Legolier set, which gives you more defense, but will lower your added on dex from the Sauna robe. Switch your level 30 bow and use the Red Viper. Stick with all the same equipment from level 30.

Level 40: Stick with your Sauna Robe, but switch your bow to the 40 Bow. You should switch your hat, shoes and glove. But if you have an Attack WorkGlove, stick with that.

Level 50: Switch to a Blue-Lined Kimset and scroll it with 100% Overall Dex scrolls. Get an Oylmpus. You may scroll it if you want with 100% Bow Attack scrolls. Switch your shoes and hat as well to the level 50 equipment. If you do not already have an Attack Glove, i suggest getting one soon.

Level 60: If you have money, switch to the level 60 armour and scroll it with a few 60% and 100%. you dont have to switch the armour, as the dex is almost the same. Swtich your Olympus to the Asianic Bow. Try to get a bow with 85 attack or more. Get an Attack WorkGlove NOW. They are pretty darn important.

Level 70: Get all your Level 70 armour. You dont want to look like a nub when you're a Ranger, do you? mush1k.gif

---------------------------

Training Spots

Level 30 - 35: I suggest training at the Ant Tunnel I. Go to around the bottom and train on the Horny Mushrooms and the Undead Mushrooms. If you cant get a spot there, go to around the middle platform on the map and train there. You could also train at The Land of Wild Boar, but it isnt suggested if you dont have much potion money. You could also train at Excavation Site I, II, III.

Level 35 - 40: I trained at Mask Fishes and i got a lot of EXP, fast. You can also stay the the Land of Wild Boar, or go to Orbis and train on the Jr. Kitties. Another option is to go to Ludibrium and go to the Brown Teddies or Drum Bunnies. You could technically also LudiPQ, but isnt recommended. Many people are reluctant to invite 3x members.

Level 40 - 45: You can start LudiPQ now. Many people want Bowmen in their parties for their decent damage on the boss. Or you can train at Burnt Land I, II, III, Level 3, 4, 5 of the Orbis tower or Sky Terrace at Ludi.

Level 45 - 50. If you like PQs, now is the best time. People want to invite you for your higher level or experience, and higher damage to the boss. Copper Drakes are now available as a good training spot. You can also go to Platoon Chronoses or Master Chronos. Stone Gollems arent bad either. The maps are easy to find, but i recommend FA to train there. They have a lot of HP. weirdface7ut.gif

Level 50 - 60: Welcome to El Nath. You're gonna be herre for a while. Train at Jr. Yetis, the first map from the right of town. You can train at Cloud Park VI, or go to Coolie Zombies. I dont recomend that until you can 2/3 KO them. Straw Test Dummies are also a very good place to train. But finding a channel may be a problem. You may also stay at Master Chronos for a bit. They have good EXP

Level 60 - 70: Now is the time to train at Coolie Zombies. Go to Forest of Dead Trees 3. That map is the most flat out of the four. Zombies are usually pretty empty, now that everyone likes the STD (Straw Test Dummy) maps. You can stay at STDs if you really wanted to, but i dont recommend it. Red Drakes is also a good option.
