What programs do you use to design the graphics and write the code for your sites?

I use DreamWeaver 8 for the coding, Photoshop CS2 for graphics, Flash Professional 8 for Flash and Audition for audio. As for browsers, I have Internet Explorer 6, 7, Firefox 2, Opera 9, Flock and Safari 3 beta.
Amidst the rocks and the gentle snow, I blossom.
p.s. I still like potatoes.

Dreamweaver CS3
Photoshop CS2

I tend to use Dreamweaver in conjunction with Notepad as I often get frustrated with all the junk Dreamweaver includes. weirdface7ut.gif

I used NotePad to do my HTML and then test it on the W3Schools tryit things to see what it looks like and such.

I try and do my best of graphics in MS Paint lol, But mainly get other friends and helpers to do such things XD.

When I get my new PC or go to college Im hoping to learn CSS and PHP through DreamWeaver aswell XD.

I use vim. None of that expensive Dreamweaver stuff. I believe in writing my own code.

Any graphics I need to do are done in GIMP or Asymptote (a vector graphics language), but I don't do much with graphics.

You can very well control your own code in Dreamweaver, the code highlighting and auto-completion is very practical.

I personally use Eclipse PHP for my PHP coding, Photoshop CS3 for the graphics, IE7, Firefox 2 and Opera 9.23 for testing.

If code highlighting just means coloring keywords etc, then vim does that mush1a.gif Oh, vim also colors c++ code, c code, java code, python code, config files, and pretty much anything else you want. You can even define your own color schemes. (All right, it's just a text editor when it gets down to it - but it's a dang good one.)It doesn't do auto-completion, but that's not a huge downfall.

If it were just for code highlighting, I'd use Crimson Editor. I personally don't like Dreamweaver because it has practically no PHP code intelligence. So Eclipse PHP is my IDE of choice. :]

Lol, some people in my company like vim. It looks really powerful, but I just never got around to learn how to use it.

At home I use Notepad++ since I don't own a DreamWeaver license myself. It's free, has code highlighting for over 30 languages and it's overall much better than regular Notepad.

When I write code, I type it out rather than use the WISIWYG editor, except when I'm nudging area maps.

Oh, and another wonderful tool I use is firebug. It's a Firefox extension and it's an absolute must if you do any serious web design work.

Oh naturally, Firebug is essential in Web Dev. However, I find Firefox's memory usage rather unattractive.

Yeah, Firefox does eat up quite a bit of memory. I use Opera for google searches, and Flock for RSS feeds, so that the memory usage spreads out more evenly accross different programs.

I use this program called SlickRun so that I can just type "mt" to instantaneously get to MapleTip, "g some search" for google searches, "yt some video" for youtube searches, etc, and everything always opens in the browser I predefined =)

With my 512MB of RAM and Eclipse taking over 100MB of it, I can't afford to let another program eat as much.

Or I could simply use Crimson Editor and screw code intelligence.

I've never liked Eclipse because it's so heavy. It is a nice editor though.

Personally, I use firefox for web browsing, but I do agree that it eats up lots of memory.

May I ask how I get hold of that Notepad++ please? Anything to help me would be great. I would use DreamWeaver, However, My PC is on the brink and unable to handle anymore programmes. I couldn't even download MIRC again lol, I've only got around 150MB Space left T-T.

Photoshop CS2
Notepad

I mostly just use Web Developer for firefox. I like it more than firebug for some reason. And when I just do things for Gaia (lol) I just use EditCSS. I'm simplistic when it comes to coding since I don't do anything fancy. I'm more into graphics than anything.
