This is a follow up to the post by iamflip.
As we may all know, guilds are being disbanded by hackers and when hackers disband guilds, you will lose all the expansion slots, people in your guild and the name of your guild. As well as other guild information. In order to prevent such a loss, you should save your guild list (Press G and screenshot the whole thing) and delete all players from your guild list except the guild master. The guild master SHOULD NOT log into MapleStory until this issue has been resolved. Several theories of how this could happen would include a compromised GM account, packet editing/insertion, and memory hacking. Please note, many guilds have already been disbanded (including our own) through this hack and your guild may be next. If you have any advice or would like to comment on this, feel free to post. Guests can always post here. Update: Apparently Nexon is now aware of the situation and working on it. However, since it's the weekend (people are off work), I highly doubt there will be any fixes until Monday. Update: The hack is now confirmed to be packet insertion, they simply send a request to the server to do some things with the guild. Nothing a couple if statements can't handle (simplyintricate, the developer of LibertyMS) knows this, but who knows when Nexon will take care of it. -------------------- So guess what? MapleTip will be going through an overhaul this summer! Details coming soon..

Also, I would like to add that if your guild master was expelled, but your guild was not disbanded, you should get a list of all the members in the guild, then have a Jr. Expel everyone in the guild, but him/herself. Then have the Jr. not logg on until this whole thing is resolved.

wow.... awfull, maple story hacks are supposed to be harmless things, god mode, flying, super damage, things like that, but when you go overboard with maple story hacks, this is what occurs. its just so sad that someone out there thinks this is funny.

MTD Windia and MTD Scania were hit badly (although MTD Scania has a few Jr's left standing). MTD Bera and MTD Broa are left standing, so I placed those branches on lockdown (expelled all members) until further notice.

Lazlojet and xholywindx are the hackers in Windia @ iSock.
I'm sure it's the same hacker on different characters.. Also, you may want to add that the easier way to get a screenshot of all your members, is to type /guildinfo. You could always put everyone as Jr. Master, that way only the master can expel. So a Jr Master is hacked, he/she can't do anything.

One... a couple of days? Hmm... as long as they can rollback to after 3/26/08, then my money is safe.
 And two, a rollback without fixing the problem is a recipe for fail since the problem would still exist and therefore the threat would still be there. -------------------- |
