I don't want people to be able to transfer their level 100 characters to say....broa where all their training spots would be empty. They should have to work with the server that they originally picked, whether they like it or not. I am extremely happy with my decision to be on bera, because there are high levels (like prodigy ) but not too many. If a character transfer happened, bera would be flooded with as many level 100s as scania is now. This pretty much eliminates all hope of being the best for us "semi-pros" (levels 40-60 IMO). If you really want to be with your friends, start a new character. They did, why can't you?

Why are you so against this character change thing? Who cares if you don't have the "best" player in Bera?

I personally think it would be a great idea.

It would be nice, but like Rayen said, it wouldn't be easy for Wizet.

Good idea, but I think chatting with people on both servers would be a better idea. And not temporary. 'Cos some of my friends play on Aquila(I play Bootes, MSea), so I can't meet them, but it would at least be good to talk to them... Right?

According to the MapleStory FaQ, transfer of characters between servers are impossible.

Why I think it's impossible~

Characters that are created in your account in other servers are assigned to that server only. If you made another character in, say, Broa while you already have three characters in Scania, it'd be impossible to move those three characters over without doing something with the character that already exists in Broa.

How would they do that without alterting your account in some way?

Wizet probably doesn't want to put up with the overload of people wanting to transfer over servers. Given the situation above, they would have to manually alter every single account that wants to be moved.

I don't know how big of a company Wizet is, but since they offer a free MMORPG to the public, they might not have a large enough staff capable of handling such a huge task such as a server transfer.

The account would be merged.  It's the same thing that happened in EverQuest.  When server mergers happened last summer, all the characters for an account were dropped if they had not been logged in for 30days or if they were below level 10.  Any character you wanted saved needed to be logged in so that it was kept.  If you had to move equipment, then it was your responsibility.

Server mergers were 12+hr patches to combine all the accounts from two servers into one.  The mergers were free.

Transferring servers could be done at a cost.  It was something like $50 USD to transfer a maximum of 8 toons from one server to another.  It was a transfer of the entire account, and toons couldnt be split form the account they were on, unless you created another account and moved that single toon first.

As for it being impossible, it's not.  The time needed for all the code to be written and the actual transfers to be done would probably take amounts of time greater than Wizet is willing to spend.  That is the reason why it's impossible....because they don't want to put whatever resources into it that are required.  I mean, time is money, and if the return isn't worth the input, it won't be done.

I agree a little with everyone, but mostly Hamster here.

I chose Broa to start my account because there are so few crazy level 70+ people.  Think about what would happen once they plug in the rankings.  It would suck having a good ranking, but then having a few level 100+ people taking up spots.  Also, the Wizet people have enough on their minds with hackers zooming left and right, and continously updating Maplestory.  No harsh feelings to anyone, but I would not appreciate a server transfer

Scania = Impossible to train on since it's so packed and so many people steal kills.

Bera = Slightly easier to train on but still difficult and frustrating at times.

Broa = Empty and easy to train on.

If we merged all three, then Bera and Broa would be in danger of becoming overpopulated like Scania is, and i don't want that because i personally don't enjoy having my kills stolen.

i agree with zironn. wizet wont do it if theres nothing in it in it for them. maybe they could make a server change cash shop item like the sp change item?

however i think if they let players change servers people are all going to rush to one server e.g. broa.

Lets merge Scania with...Windia(?). We could have like 40 channels to train on, and maybe we could be able to actually log in.

Although they will say it is impossible, it really is. It's just hard to do and wastes LOADS of time. In another game I played people got mad because they wanted to visit friends in other servers but didn't want to have to start over. The company kept sying no,no,no until one day we got a message saying avatar move was the next big update.

It took them half a year to implement it though so a lot of people quit from boredom. Careful what you wish for x_x

All they have to do is put up a simple script that has 4 choices, broa, scania, windia, and bera. Grab your current server, disable the one on the choice, and do the change.

For example,

Why is it that everytime you talk about like programs and whatever I have no clue what you are talking about?

And i think it would be a horrible idea because:
If for example people on every server goes to Scania it'll be FLOOOOOOOODED
Same thing for other servers
And if pros from scania a.k.a ninjagaru goes to windia which has umm not noob well the people aren't that far since it just came out then ninjagaru would just go MUAHAHAH I PWN NOOBS  then he kses all of them

I have to disagree with this, it would be pointless, don't you think everyone would move to Windia? Making Windia also full, meaning, Windia, will also always be full, this wouldn't be fair for all the other non-scania players. Just think of it like this way, you can never gain something, without making a sacrafice. In this case, you can't get one world to be un-full, without getting another world, to be full.
