'ello. I'm not good at intros, so imma get to the guide.
Note: I'm writing this quickly, covering the basics, I'll write in more detail later on.
Things to be added soon:
2nd job, how to advance to 2nd, 2nd job skills, how to advance to pirate, location of port

Things to be added in like, a week or two:
3rd job, 3rd job skills, 3rd job skillguide, 10 - 30 PQs guides

Thigns to be added in 4 weeks:
30 - 70 PQs guides

Things to be added when pirates come out:
Images of (my, mainly) pirate(s)

Change of plans: Guide to be updated when pirates come out.

Things to be added when the world ends:
4th job skillguide/skills, 4th job info

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beginning Your Pirate!
Firstly, choose a pirate-y name, and try to roll these stats.
STR: Any
DEX: Any
INT: 4/5
LUK: 4/5
AP Placement:
STR: Str is equal to your level (Level 20 = 20 STR, etc)
DEX: Rest of your AP.
Reason to go regular: You'll look like what a pirate should look like, cheapest
Reasons NOT to go regular: Lowest damage of the three
This is for a basic Gunslinger, if you wish to make a STRless Gunslinger, try to roll these stats:
STR: Any
DEX: 10/11/12/13
INT: Any
LUK: Any
AP Placement:
STR: Beginning stats
DEX: All AP
If you want, you COULD settle for a 9, but... it's not that hard to get 10...
Reason to go STRless: Highest damage at lowest levels
Reasons NOT to go STRless: Gets weaker at higher levels (Much higher for Gunslingers, like, level 120 or something), quite expensive
For a Low-STR, roll the same as the basic Gunslinger, but instead for AP Placement...:
STR: Anything lower then your level, probably around 20 lower, and cap it at around 50 or less.
DEX: Rest of your AP.
Reasons to go Low-STR: 2nd highest damage at lower levels, gets to be the strongest at higher levels
Reasons NOT to go Low-STR: WILL get expensive, the most expensive option
Firstly, get to level 10 through the quests on Maple Island. They will help you get to being a pirate by giving good EXP! If you're lazy, get to level 9, and 300 EXP to level and go do Olaf's quest, which gives 300/340 EXP, and it's incredibly easy to do. Also, this is unnecessary, but you need to get 20 DEX to become a pirate. But... seeing as if you don't get 20 DEX by the time you're level 10 you should restart... yeah...
Advance to Pirate!
Hooray! You're a pirate now! you have began your journey in Nautilus Port! equip a gun and get some bullets to use.
There aren't many skills in MapleStory for pirates in the first job. I doubt that makes sense, but whatever. i'll be writing each skill, and what it does, and I'll give a rating for it. This is the format I'll use:
(Skill Name)
Description: What it does.
Level 1: What it does at skill level 1.
Level 11: What it does at skill level 11.
Level 20: What it does at skill level 20.
(continue on like this if there is more skill levels)
Rating: #/10, (F(0), E (1/2), D (3/4), C (5/6), B (7/8), A (9/10), S (10 Special)
Reason: Reason for the rating above.
Double Barrel Shot
Description: Fires two bullets quickly.
Level 1: 4 MP, 61% damage, hits twice, range 215
Level 11: 6 MP, 71% damage, hits twice, range 290
Level 20(MAX): 7 MP, 80% damage, hits twice, range 350
Rating: 10/10, S Rank
Reason: Well, this is quite obvious. It is your only attacking skill for first job and your main attacking skill (in 1 on 1 combat) in second job anyways... so... I don't really need a reason. Extremely fast, and extremely good. Gets replaces in third job, but I doubt you'll mind.
Dash
Description: Increases speed and jump when you press left or right twice, but cannot attack (or so I've heard)
Level 1: 14 MP, increases speed and jump by (?) for 4 seconds
Level 5: 10 MP, increases speed and jump by (?) for 12 seconds
Level 10: 5 MP, increases speed and jump by (?) for 20 seconds
Rating: 6/10, C Rank
Reason: Useful sometimes to get through a map, but not useful in combat.
Quick Motion
Description: Adds avoidability and accuracy.
Level 1: Adds 1 avoidability and 1 accuracy
Level 11: Adds 11 avoidability and 11 accuracy
Level 20: Adds 20 avoidability and 20 accuracy
Rating: 4/10, D Rank
Reason: Not really useful, but there's nothing else to put points into... so yeah...
Straight
Description: Punch a enemy.
Level 1: 6 MP, 156% damage (BASED ON STR)
Level 11: 9 MP, 216% damage (BASED ON STR)
Level 20: 14 MP, 270% damage (BASED ON STR)
Rating: 0/10, F Rank
Reason: You'll just never use this. Seriously.
Somersault Kick
Description: Flip over and hit up to 6 monsters nearby. Okay, fine. You do a backflip.
Level 1: 8 MP, 114% damage, up to 3 monsters (Based on STR)
Level 11: 11 MP, 154% damage, up to 5 monsters (Based on STR)
Level 20: 16 MP, 190% damage, up to 6 monsters (Based on STR)
Rating: 3/10, D Rank.
Reason: It's okay, seeing as you have 31 points left over to put into any number of Quick Motion, Somersault Kick and Straight, you might as well use this sometimes at CPQ in room 3/4 or something... still crap, but okay if you get what I mean.
Skill Builds (1st Job)
Here's the interesting part, and probably one of the reasons MapleStory is a interesting game. There are many skill builds you can follow, and here are a few.
1. Normal skill build
This is the ordinary, plain skill build, which will probably be the most used one.
10: 1 Double Barrel Shot
11: 3 Double Barrel Shot
12: 3 Double Barrel Shot
13: 3 Double Barrel Shot
14: 3 Double Barrel Shot
15: 3 Double Barrel Shot
16: 3 Double Barrel Shot
17: 1 Double Barrel Shot (MAX), 2 Dash
18: 3 Dash
19: 3 Dash
20: 2 Dash(MAX), 1 Quick Motion
21: 3 Quick Motion
22: 3 Quick Motion
23: 3 Quick Motion
24: 3 Quick Motion
26: 3 Quick Motion
27: 1 Quick Motion(MAX), 2 Somersault Kick
28: 3 Somersault Kick
29: 3 Somersault Kick
30: 3 Somersault Kick
End Result:
20 Double Barrel Shot (MAX)
10 Dash (MAX)
20 Quick Motion (MAX)
11 Somersault Kick
2. Party Quest skill build (The one I'm going)
This guide works by using the party quests in MapleStory to help you level. It ends the same as the normal build, but in a different order. The party quests are Henesys Party Quest, Kerning Party Quest and Ariant Colosseum Battle.
10: 1 Dash
11: 3 Dash
12: 3 Dash
13: 3 Dash (MAX)
14: 3 Double Barrel Shot
15: 3 Double Barrel Shot
16: 3 Double Barrel Shot
17: 3 Double Barrel Shot
18: 3 Double Barrel Shot
19: 3 Double Barrel Shot
20: 2 Double Barrel Shot (MAX), 1 Somersault Kick
21: 3 Somersault Kick
22: 3 Somersault Kick
23: 3 Somersault Kick
24: 1 Somersault Kick, 2 Quick Motion
25: 3 Quick Motion
26: 3 Quick Motion
27: 3 Quick Motion
28: 3 Quick Motion
29: 3 Quick Motion
30: 3 Quick Motion (MAX)
End:
10 Dash (MAX)
20 Double Barrel Shot (MAX)
20 Quick Motion (MAX)
11 Somersault Kick
3. Somersault Kick Build
This build is focused on the uselessness of Quick Motion, seeing as you'll never RELY on a miss to survive.
10: 1 Double Barrel Shot
11: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
12: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
13: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
14: 2 Dash, 1 Double Barrel Shot
15: 3 Double Barrel Shot
16: 3 Double Barrel Shot
17: 3 Double Barrel Shot
18: 3 Double Barrel Shot
19: 3 Double Barrel Shot
20: 3 Double Barrel Shot (MAX)
21: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
22: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
23: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
24: 1 Dash, 2 Somersault Kick
25: 1 Dash (MAX), 2 Somersault Kick
26: 3 Somersault Kick
27: 1 Somersault Kick (MAX), 2 Quick Motion
28: 3 Quick Motion
29: 3 Quick Motion
30: 3 Quick Motion
End:
20 Double Barrel Shot (MAX)
20 Somersault Kick (MAX)
10 Dash (MAX)
11 Quick Motion
There are many other skill builds possible to be made, but some things are pretty much required to be maxed. They are (at 1st job):
Double Barrel Shot
Dash
Training (1st job):
10 - 15: Slimes (Forest South of Ellinia Dungeon I) or Henesys Party Quest
15 - 20: Pigs (Pig Beach/Rainforest East of Henesys) or Henesys Party Quest
20 - 30: Kerning Party Quest, Ariant Colosseum Battle or Ant Tunnel I/II/III
2nd job:
TO BE ADDED AFTER CAUSE I GOT DISTRACTED FOR THE WHOLE DAY
lolo.
Something else to be added, my unique skill build for 2nd job, the rest won't be added until after pirates come out.
30: 1 Invisible Shot
31: 3 Gun Mastery
32: 3 Gun Mastery
33: 2 Gun Mastery, 1 Gun Booster
34: 3 Gun Booster
Nice guide. You could mention that you need at least 25 DEX to become a pirate though. mush1o.gif
Yeah, I kinda did that at like, 2am. I forgot? :D. Anyway, imma go add the mentioned stuff and probably more things I forgot.
Edit: Okay, first job is fully complete, well, more like 90% complete. It'll be fully complete when pirates come out, 'cause then I'll know where to train, etc.
